Where Is The USA In The World Today?

A Muslim, a Jew, a Christian and an Atheist formed a breakfast club.

Why would we do that, and why this mix of individuals?

Because we’re friends, because we see one another as the very same…we all bleed red, and we will all die one day, because we have the same values and the same needs from life.

A positive attitude (most of the time), we want a roof over our families’ heads, food on the table, clean running water, an education for our children and above all security for everyone.

We meet several times a month, we discuss anything and everything, we disagree but we never fall out…we’ve been going for about 5 years now. One or two others join us, and it’s always fun with something to learn.

The last time we talked, the main topic was the upcoming US elections for the next President.

“Who are you voting for?” one asked.

I was over the moon, just waiting for such a question as it’s right up my street being non American.

So, I piled in with my thoughts!

As I can’t vote, yet having been here for 10 years now and seen 3 Presidents in situ, and the crazy lead up to the elections, I’m guessing I see it in a different way from the rest of you. Firstly America is not a democracy, and here’s why:

Approximately 350ish million people in this country, yet only a handful from the 2 main parties get air time to put themselves out there in front of the Nation. Surely if my neighbour Joe across the road wants to run, he should have the same exposure as the rest of the main runners. But no, little person Joe hasn’t been bankrolled by the elites for millions of $$$$$$ to put out adds and do a “fly by” and “bus by” tour around the main parts of the US while also on TV, online and radio.

In other words, the individuals who the elites want in power have the monies required to get the maximum exposure.

The US electorate then have to choose from those already exposed by the elites…how is that democracy?

Plus only 2 major political parties…great for keeping the country split.

Ah, what about Trump one of the lads asked, he’s a billionaire?

In the last quarter of 2023 Trump’s campaign had raised $37 million, where do you think that comes from? He’s in the swamp with the rest.

The USA is a marvelous country to visit, the vast majority of people are really nice and decent individuals. But in my view, they’ve been completely sold out when it comes to voting.

They are basically voting for someone who has already been handpicked by the elites. Not for little Joe from across the road…which is what I thought America’s values were founded on?

Those handpicked individuals who get pushed out of the running, after battling verbally and bad mouthing the others, then grovel like anything to the front runner to ensure a place at the table…running mate or otherwise.

It’s absolutely disgusting, and to me completely un American!

Me again: “Do you think that given all of this is being aired on global TV, that America’s standing in the world is heading south?”

Others: “Absolutely,”

Therefore the “leader of the free world” and his/her magnificent team of the future need to work hard on returning America’s once great democratic values.

OK, who’s round is it for the next coffees?
