Even more $$$$$$$ will be made now by the “internally regulated” security industry, with their phones melting from calls by corporates thinking that their CEOs and VIPs require 24/7 security.
A great shame that America has got to this stage where billionaires and powerful companies rule by completely ripping off the public for profit. This shooting didn’t shock me in the least. There has been lots of talk over here about “how have the billionaires/millionaires got away with it for so long?”
There are people committing suicide, and others owing thousands for their medical bills, money that they just don’t have. Individuals have died due to health insurance companies refusing to pay for their meds or/and operations. Health insurance companies are refusing to pay out in too many cases.
But the cops aren’t chasing the company heads for those people’s demise.
Just maybe the CEOs would be safe as houses if they and their companies worked with honesty and integrity.
The UK government please take heed from this scenario! No matter the strain on finances, do NOT go the privatized way for healthcare, and look after the NHS at all costs. To be made to go through a for-profit-driven healthcare insurance company to see a doctor or dentist just isn’t right.
An extremely sad end, or maybe just the beginning, when it comes to executing a CEO for his company’s filthy practice. The night before, my wife and I watched a German made film on TV, about a concentration camp commander living out his family life in the commandant’s house right up against the walls of the concentration camp. Living day to day with his wife and children, maintained a beautiful garden, and walks in the countryside. Fishing in the river with their kids, canoeing, and lying in the sunshine on the river bank…all yards away from the death and destruction of human beings in ovens.
If ever there was an allegory for corporate financial terrorism, and the way that they lead their lives at home, while doing what they do at work! In today’s modern world, execution of a CEO…absolutely not…but a CEO brought to justice within the law for their and their company’s malpractices…absolutely.
Beautifully put Bob. Those of us over here who benefit from having the NHS would do well to count our blessings..
