After yesterday’s “drama” in the Oval Office today, European heads got together for talks alongside Zelensky of Ukraine hosted by the British PM in London, England.
Back over here in the USA, the TV news networks were stretched thin on getting together talking heads to hear their views on what may come from it.
However, as damaging as the Oval Office drama was, something more serious within the USA is about to catch fire if not contained quickly in my view.
I’ve always said in my 11 years here, that the biggest problem in the USA is the 2 party system. Many appear to be dyed in the wool one or the other, with the few supporting independents that just becomes a vote taken from the other 2. And of course those running for POTUS have already been chosen before it gets to the people’s vote as explained here in a past post: https://bobshepherdauthor.com/2024/11/05/the-filth-of-american-politics/
The thing that scares me for US internal stability is when you get politicians live on TV openly suggesting that the White House is now an arm of the Kremlin! In that one man is being “owned” by the Wall St billionaires. Therefore it’s the billionaires who POTUS and his government represent, and not the US people.
Those from 250 years ago who fought so bravely for American values must be turning in their graves.
Although thought for some time, and talked about over dinner tables and in bars by the people, that the billionaires have way too much political power…it’s now been said by a politician live on TV taking it further by accusing POTUS and his team of representing the Kremlin.
People in this country are hurting, confused and angry. They haven’t seen a great President of the people for some time now. Many believe what they hear from whatever political channel they get their news and indoctrination from.
As the country is already split in 2 by the 2 party system, these latest comments will only split the people deeper…believing an arm of the Kremlin…or not?
The sooner politicians of all sides show integrity, honesty, and facts, that they really are fighting each and every day for “we the people,” factions of the electorate could well become really nasty.
Americans need to switch on now, discuss what one another thinks is going on with today’s US politics, along with their family, friends, and neighbours, and, extremely importantly, agree to disagree where needed. But remain as one, and bring your misunderstandings up with your local politicians and hold them to account. That is the right thing to do.
The American people do not need any more drama on their streets when we all know that there’s enough real drama in other countries right now.
