C’mon Brits…Don’t Bite!

For a man who doesn’t know the difference between Greenland and Iceland (it’s easy, Iceland’s green and Greenland’s ice), and threatens or abuses anyone who doesn’t go along with what he wants, Donald Trump’s latest comments on NATO troops not pulling their weight in Afghanistan compared to US troops, just isn’t worth wasting time on.

Today NATO troops, tomorrow It’ll be some other grouping.

I live in America, and believe me, the American people know exactly what NATO troops and other actors did in Afghanistan to stand with America post 9/11.

It’s not that long ago that 4 star General Stanley A McChrystal couldn’t say enough great words about the UK special forces…so yes, Americans know full well…and that’s all that matters.

However, what matters more to me is the UK PMs’ response today. A TV sound bite denouncing the US President’s words…yet nothing direct to the President himself.

The UK armed forces are bottom feeders when it comes to what matters as far as our government is concerned.

For centuries now, we’ve all been taken out of the box and placed in many times-impossible positions, expected to make an impact… an impact with complete success being the expectation.

It’s generals who need to be calling the shots when it comes to our military being deployed, and just how these young individuals in uniform are expected to carry out their missions. Generals with military hats on their head…not political hats.

Then, just as they walk out of the door at the end of their careers, they begin to talk the talk.

Disgust today from the mouth of POTUS…but for years now, disgust for the lack of mouth from our generals.

For the UK armed forces who lost their lives, their limbs and their minds so young, they will always be top feeders to me.

Let’s move forward. The POTUS doesn’t deserve any of us dwelling on his sociopathic behaviour.

Save it for holding our own leadership to account.
