Think COVID, Think lockdowns, think distance learning, think elections’ hostilities, think Taliban in Kabul.
Why?
Because ALL of those things matter to our personal security and the security of our children going back to school post the summer recess.
With COVID our day to day lives have never been the same…yet yes, we are all different in our thinking. Masks, no masks, get the shot, don’t get the shot. Come back to the office, stay at home…and so it goes on. Look at the last Presidential election here in the States…I’ve never seen anything like it, and neither has anyone else here during our life time.
I’ve been on the ground overseas and witnessed what mobs can do to decent human beings…when I have no doubt, if the individuals from that mob were on their own however, they would never dream of behaving that way. Mob rule catches fire in an instant, anywhere in the world, and it’s really scary!
My concerns for kids returning to school, as well as the rest of us going about our work and daily lives in general today, is that the actions and laws/rules and regulations of others, to policies from our leadership are making way too many individuals angry. So just how far are the angry people willing to go?
Here in America we are all vulnerable, even though we live within a large gun culture.
Just look at Afghanistan, another gun culture…the Nike Stripe of the country being the AK47 and it’s variants. But even though almost everyone has a gun, and even having been overseen by the most powerful military on the planet for almost 20 years…an Afghan faction opposed to the West has walked/flown in uncontested, and taken the capital Kabul. Again, this can happen anywhere, and please don’t be fooled into thinking that it couldn’t.
However, my concern right now is the loner…from a disgruntled school kid from perhaps how he’s had to conduct himself over the last 18 months plus, through COVID…to the more mature adult who wants to make his mark against US foreign policy. Then there’s everything else that’s making individuals angry in between.
So, as I’ve said many many times before…we are all on our own at the end of the day…please get that! It’s up to us to take care of ourselves as individuals and family. The first responders in an incident aren’t really the first responders. There aren’t enough of them and they can’t be everywhere. They are the professional responders, which makes us the first responders when caught in an incident. We have to get it right in order to save our own life and the lives of others until such times the professional responders turn up.
Those that read my blog know that I’ve touched on this a number of times in the past. That’s because it keeps cropping up time and time again, and people will continue to not be switched on and live life to a plan of actions for certain scenarios.
For the foreseeable future here in the States, I and my family members have a plan of action. We know what our options are going to be in certain scenarios. We know that given what’s going on at home with COVID and the economic climate associated with it, and given the hatred for the West by a number of individuals over the likes of recent foreign policies of our countries in Afghanistan and the ME…there is a likelihood of bad things about to happen.
Anyone above the age of 12yrs young requires the knowledge of how to react if caught in a mass shooting. It’s the same options whether at a school, workplace, shopping center, airport or out on the street. We will not be going to mass gatherings from now on, most certainly on the day of 11th Sept…and for a good period afterwards. If we’re not there then we can’t be hurt.
What a way to have to conduct ourselves in the free world.
Well, we’re nor actually in the free world. Just like the economy, we are all connected today…all around the world. What effects one effects all of us…in some way.
So, please for the foreseeable future, think, have a plan, stay safe and stay healthy…as sadly my post is over something that kills and has killed over the years more than COVID!
It’s a wake up call…that’s exactly what I’m doing here. So to end this post…here is how to survive should you be caught in a mass shooting or have a hint of any other serious trouble brewing:
