2024 Remembrance Tab.

Bob having returned from his Remembrance Tab, 2024.

Well, it was that time again. Here in the States, Veterans’ Day is very different. Mainly cheap deals in shops, so get there early!

For many years now I’ve gone for my tab/run with around a 30lb pack.

As I’ve mentioned before it’s a great way to be with those who sadly never got to be 30, 40, 50 etc, and of course for those who have since passed after their military service.

Another great tab, living the memories on the way around. I’m not alone, but with all those I think about. Yes, once again, they were with me.

I recently moved to the midwest from New York, so this is my first real tab with a smock, and it’s attracting some surprising looks from passersby and drivers.

Anyway, back safe, refreshed in mind but knackered in body ha ha.

I have this all to do again in 2 days time for my 70th birthday.

Whatever it takes to remember, and whatever it takes to feel good.

For those no longer tabbing, this is for you all. x

  3. Good one Bob!

Methinks the surprised looks of passersby came from seeing a pack and pair of boots tabbing away with no visible means of support! Damn good camouflage from that old smock!!

Best wishes for a great birthday; just remember, the seventies are what the thirties used to be.

    Aye,

    Ron.

    1. Ha ha ha Ron, loving the smock mate…it fits like a glove…no, that doesn’t make sense. Cheers for the smock and cheers for the birthday wishes. You’re right mate, the new 70s is definitely the new 30s! All the very best Ron. x
