A walk onto the heli LS to get some sun, see the sky, and take in some thoughts.

And of course, enjoy my cup of Milo. 1980s

Well, I’ve been blogging since 2009, after my wife and I had great success with our first book, The Circuit by Bob Shepherd. Yes, it was a collaboration.

In all of that time, I’ve written just under one thousand pages on subjects about security, how best to challenge mental and physical health issues after service life, and short stories from my military life. And I’ve had great fun writing the odd poem too.

It’s been a blast, but now that I’m into my early 70s, it’s time to put the keyboard away and continue with another passion… art.

In these uncertain times within our fragile world, I’d like to say a big thank you to all who took the time to read my posts over the years, and it was certainly an education reading the great informative comments that came back at me…thank you dearly.

I’ve been very lucky to lead a good life, with only a few scrapes and dents here and there. And I hope there’s a good bit left yet to enjoy.

For those older individuals reading this, please keep moving; it’s a means of getting up each morning and making the most of each day. If you can move over the hills with a Bergen, great. If not, just put one foot in front of the other…again and again and again…

To those great young men and women in uniform who work hard to keep us safe and well, from the security services, the military, the police, the fire service, and the medical staff…thank you, you will always be in my thoughts.

Can I just give you the greatest oif thanks for the joy you have given so many over the years.

I first of all read your books my late father who died 2 years ago on his 80th birthday attended your talk at Bishopgarth together with a family we saw all the UKSF talks held there.

My late father found yours to be the best of the best. He greatly appreciated you and very much listen with full attention.

To be honest yours was the only one who didn’t have a little snooze in.

Enjoy your new found art and realise you’r old art was one of perfection.

Take care be good to yourself and most importantly be kind to yourself
