CALM THE FCUK DOWN!

Caronavirus in my hood is having a worse effect than war!

Yes, that’s right…because in war we all pull together, and look after one another.

My local store is falling foul to the hoarders, instead of buying normally and allowing everyone to get their needs for the week, and therefore allowing for continuous calm.

The NY mayor talks about the great character of New Yorkers. Bollox, for a start most “New Yorkers” that I know, just like myself, weren’t even born here, so yes, we are all different in character, if not just for that reason alone. So what of the hoarders, are they not from NYC and it’s suburbs?
Every drama requires good proactive leadership.

I’m not going to criticize the actions put into place right now, as I don’t know enough about the virus. I will go along with whatever the powers to be put in place, for as long as it takes. But hey, these placements should have been thought about weeks and weeks ago.

But what I will say is this…there are over 30.000…yes, over 30.000 children that go to school in NYC classed as homeless. They seek school as a daytime shelter apart from getting an education and a meal. What of those poor kids? Coronavirus is the least of their problems when not in the safe haven of school. My thoughts go out to every one of them at this time. The mayor is also suggesting that schools may not open for the remainder of the year, not just the school year but the calendar year.

My neighbours are getting hyper by the day, I continue to suggest to them that they pack a bag, and travel to Northern Syria where they can seek a better life…no answer!

Come on people, not just here in my neighbourhood, but in other parts too.

If you want to help yourself, then do it by helping one another…it’s the only way forward. Stay safe, stay strong, stay healthy, but over all stay calm, and let’s concentrate on looking after the weak who are most vulnerable in all of this.

Yesterday, an 80 year young female neighbour who lives alone, came over the road to see if we were OK. I told her to stay indoors and that I will continue to check on her daily. I will get her shopping too (but keep her toilet roll!), anything she needs.

It’s this lady’s character that we all need to follow.

  1. Well said Mr. Shepherd! I cannot understand the panic. People are being very nasty to each other, in a time where they should be better human”kind!” I’m thankful that my parents taught me to NEVER wait until you have to shit to build a toilet…always be prepared!

  2. So true! It has always amazed me that people are so proud of the fact that they stripped the shelves of necessities that they post pictures of their “haul”! It’s so rare that people actually help their neighbors that we feature this kindness on TV, newspapers and online. This used to be the norm.

  3. Heartbreaking to see old people, NHS staff and those who can’t get to multiple shops struggling to buy basic necessities. Best remark last weekend: When standing in a shop’s queue chatting about the hordes grabbing food, one old guy says “they come here and do that they’ll get f**** nutted. One upside is the local shops, particularly farm shops, are doing a roaring trade.
